He was born on 2 Feb 1978 in Toledo, Ohio, United States. He grew up in Stillwater, Minnesota where he studied in Land Junior High School and his second School is Stillwater Area High School.
He went to Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota for his higher studies. He did theater and sang Concordia Choir.
After this he did post graduation and took a Master of Fine Arts degree in acting from Case Western Reserve University of Cleveland Ohio.
Rich studied improvisation from Brave New Workshop in Minneapolis and later he created an improv group in Moorhead. After many years, he joined School to teach icebreaker to law Students in the year 2006.
He also arranged an improv workshop for theater students who studied in his graduation.
In 2004 his first film Death 4 Told released at the box office. After this he never looked back in his career and did many remarkable roles in film and Tv series.

Rich started his career with the film Death 4 Told (2004). His most remarkable role is in his second film The Devil Wears Prada (2006). His famous character is Anne Hathway’s friend Whose name is Dough.
In Mad Man, he played the Harry Crane character regularly from 2007 to 2015 when this series ended. In the year 2008, he did two episodes of NBC popular series The Office, appearing in a role as Alex.
